Three New High-Security Shredders Offer a Variety of Features

Formax Dover, NH July '11: Formax introduces three new High Security Shredders, with a variety of commercial grade features. Each has been evaluated by the NSA and meets NSA/CSS specifications for Level 6 high security cross-cut shredders.

The FD 8730HS High Security Paper & Optical Media Shredder features separate feed openings and waste bins for shredding classified paper and optical media, including all types of CDs, DVDs and credit cards. The optical media cutting system shreds up to 2,000 CDs per hour into 1/16” x 5/32” particles (NSA/CSS Spec 04-02 for Optical Media Destruction Devices). The paper cutting system shreds up to 15 sheets at a time into 1/32” x 3/16” particles (NSA/CSS Spec 02-01 for HS Cross-Cut Paper Shredders). The FD 8730HS also features the EvenFlow™ Fully-Automatic Internal Oiling System, which helps to keep it in peak operating condition.

The FD 8650HS High Security AutoOiler Office Shredder features the EvenFlow™ Fully-Automatic Internal Oiler that periodically pumps oil onto the cutting blades for optimal shredding performance. The FD 8650HS is an office-sized shredder with industrial strength, shredding up to 24 feet per minute with a shred size of 1/32” x 3/16”. Its extra wide feed opening handles documents up to 16” wide and the waste bin holds up to 53 gallons.

The FD 8300HS High Security Deskside Shredder offers a compact, rugged design that fits right under a desk to shred “Top Secret” or classified documents. It can shred up to 18 feet per minute, with a shred size of 1/32” x 3/16”. The EvenFlow™ Automatic Internal Oiling System is an available option to help keep the FD 8300HS in peak operating condition.

Each new model offers the commercial-grade features of the entire Formax shredder line, including heat-treated solid-steel cutting blades, AutoStart/Stop, LED Control Panel with load indicator, powerful AC geared motor, lifetime-guaranteed waste bins, and an all-metal cabinet with casters. Formax provides a 1-year limited warranty on the cutting head and all other parts.
